Hi
No your not missing anything. Tasks are limited in SugarCRM, and only have a single Flex Relate field, to which is assigned Account, Contact, Lead etc..
Notice when you look at a Task in SugarCRM there are no Sub Panels, this means there are no one to many relationships between a Task and another module.
iSAM Mobi reflects this also, as there are no relationships.
Hope that helps

Hi Andreas
iSAM Mobi works by looking at the module and field definitions on your SugarCRM / iSAM server in a very similar (Not the same) way as the Web UI.
iSAM Mobi can then build modules on your iOS / Android version and create fields in a similar way.
The relationships are also downloaded from the Server, and this happens once all the module data has been loaded into iSAM Mobi. This table of relationship data is what enables iSAM Mobi to identify which records have a relationship with each other.
In your case Andreas, you probably want to go straight into custom configuration and add ALL the modules that you want from your server, and their fields (The Relationship field are vital, without them it won't work)
Once you have the module and field views customised then you should performa a full Sync.

Dear iSam Team,
first of all I love your iSam and works perfekt with SugarCRM CE
Versionen 6.5.8 (Build 8613) and iOS 6.0.1 and Advanced OpenSales.
I great an Realationship (1:1) between the same Modul (Products) and
want to see this now with iSam, too. That means: I have products they
connected with other products, but I miss the "Assigned Products
Link". My hope was to ADD the Relationship under the Modul Products.
Hope you can help me and best Regards
Andreas

It is completely possible to do this within the interface of iSAM.
Using the advanced search and the extended layout options (Bottom left of the Advanced Search panel) add the Created Date into the list view.
Next, using the Date Created column, click on the title label for the column. This will order the data, ascending or descending (Note the tiny grey arrows).
Then select all the records that you want, and use the Export button at the top of the list to to generate and Excel spreadsheet.
Beyond that if you then wanted to delete those records, you would repeat the same process and then use the Delete button instead of the Export.
NOTE: When data is deleted from iSAM it resides in the database, as hidden records until the next data purge tasks place. Purging is usually run on a monthly schedule.

One of our clients asked
Would it be possible to extract and remove from the system the following records out on a cvs file for me? (I need to do it on age of record on most, the rest I can do myself using export function) Can we use the date modified field for this purpose please.
Prospect Accounts more than 3 years old
Contacts more than 3 years old
Leads older than 2 years.
I should be then left with a database of records tagged as customers, active candidates up to 2 years and active contacts for 3 years. This then should be easier for me to get cleansed and work with.

I have a problem with the tasks in the mobile application. Normally the tasks are related to either an account, a contact, a lead or something. The reminder might be something short like "Call and verify appointment". But if there is no visible link to the account or contact or lead, the task in itself becomes useless.
If I open a lead I can see if there are any tasks related to it. But if I open a task I cannot see what it is related to.
Or am I missing something?

If the layout from SugarCRM could be imported to the iSam Mobi then that would be good. However I see some issue with this due to the fact we are working on mobile devices.
I envision an option under account where you lick on the account, and maybe have a send layout button that send the config via email to other users that then can click on that config and it will open right into iSam Mobi asking if they want to apply the layout.
I can also see a benefit when setting up the iSam Mobi for your instance where you can export a layout to possibly import back in if changes you made do not work.

This is not an ideal solution, in fact it's far from ideal. However, bear in mind that we don;t charge for the Android version at present.
The way to affect field ordering in iSAM Mobi on Android is to delete the Module, then re-add it. Choose the fields in the specific order you would like them to be displayed.
Finally use the primary and secondary sort orders to set the way records are organised when loaded.
Not ideal, but I hope this helps

Chad makes a very good point, but what do others think ?
We've got a future feature status for developing an Import / Export method for sharing your iSAM Mobi setup. But it's not high on the priorities list, because its not been asked for much.
It strikes me as being a good idea.
It's doable for iSAM 7 users, but much more tricky for SugarCRM users, as we think the configuration should be passed through the server for ease of use.
What are your thoughts /
How do you think it should work ?

It just started to work... didn't change anything. It wouldn't connect for several hours.
I know about the app reset tried that and it wouldn't connect when I set the account back up. So thats why I removed the app and reinstalled thinking something had happened.
It was weird to get the error when I knew I was able to connect to the server.
Quote by Rick Timmis:Quote by Chad Robison:Quote by Chad Robison:Today I un-installed and reinstalled my iSam to reset while testing changes on server and now the application will not connect to the server.
It turns an error about being on WiFi or 3G and I am.
I can connect to the server by safari fine.
Ok, now all of a sudden it is working... interesting
Hmm.. did the error occur for long ?
How did it resolve ?
Within iSAM Mobi the application has an App Reset feature, which will drop all the data tables and custom configs and reload the device with the standard iSAM Config.
To access this feature got into
Config > Settings > Reset Application
Hope that helps

Are you planing or is there a way I cannot see right now to order Fields like you can in the iPad App?
Otherwise the Android version operates much better than the iPad App when I am using them side by side.

I would like to add a +1 to this. With over 21iPad users in our sales network and most of them being, well lets say technically challenged, this would be a very appealing feature from the IS setup standpoint, possibly a must.

Hello Daniel
Thanks for your questions.
In regard to Q1.
iSAM Mobi uses the standard permission and ACL controls that SugarCRM and iSAM use. This means that your users need to have access to View, Edit, Delete records for iSAM Mobi to be able to do that too.
In essense iSAM Mobi connects to your server using REST which is very similar to the way the browser (Firefox) connects.
Known issues are where customisations have been made to the Users module, or where third party extension such as CE Teams have been installed.
In regard to Q2
If your set the logging to Debug, you will get a full output of the SQL queries that are taking place when you Sync. Looking through these will show you what is happening when the Accounts module is being Sync'd. Usually this will give you the detail you need to see exactly what is going on.
Hope that helps you
Rick

Hi,
I really like this app and bought the pro version, but it appears my accounts are not syncing.
It took me a few tries to get all the settings correct for the initial sync, but when I finally had everything dialed in, everything but the accounts synced.
2 questions:
1) Access issue: I had to use the admin account to get anything to sync. Is there some permission the app requires in order to sync data that regular users may not have? I have seen other mobile solutions that require "export" privileges to work correctly...does this app have a similar requirement?
2) Sync issue: I've checked the sugarcrm.log (debug mode on, logs set to "warn") and nothing sticks out as an error...yet everything but accounts gets synced. The status log at the bottom of the app processes normally, yet no accounts show up. What can I do to troubleshoot this?
I've tried deleting the server from the app and reentering it from scratch, but that did not solve this sync issue. Any other ideas?

Updates to SugarCRM 6.5 have changed the data schema for Calls. This causes iSAM Mobi to crash when it tries to Sync with SugarCRM 6.5. This is not a problem for earlier versions of SugarCRM, nor is it an issue for iSAM 7 users.
We are working on an update to fix this.
There is a work around that has been successful for some users.
Using the Configuration settings in iSAM Mobi it is possible to Delete the Calls module from within iSAM Mobi.
Re-sync the device and then Add the Calls module back in via the configuration settings.
This causes iSAM Mobi to request the data schema from SugarCRM, which will then provide the correct set of fields for the iSAM Mobi app.
We will have an update to correct this soon.

Please see point 2 in the above post - How does sync work in iSAM.
You'll need to check the SugarCRM logs in debug mode, to identify which record is is causing the Sync to stall in the Calls Module.
